NRTH 106: The McKinsey 7-S Framework
This 1 module (3 CE credit) course introduces nurses to the McKinsey 7-S Framework which outlines the importance of seven key elements in organizational planning and change: Shared Values, Structure, Strategy, Skill, System, Style, and Staff.
It is a model that is well suited to healthcare change, including information technology integration planning, since it guides users to apply a holistic approach to planning.
This online course consists of a lesson, assigned reading and supportive videos, and is evaluated by completing a 10-item final examination.

This course is intended to provide the learner with the opportunity to:
- Identify the characteristics of the seven elements of the McKinsey 7-S Framework.
- Recognize the suitability and application of the McKinsey 7-S Framework in the field of nursing informatics specialization.
- Describe the process that ensures organizational effectiveness during change through use of the McKinsey 7-S Framework.
- Transpose the McKinsey 7-S Framework to their own development within the field of nursing informatics.
Assessment
Learners are evaluated by completing a 10-item final examination.
Certificate
Upon completion, learners will receive a Board Approved Certificate of Completion for 3 CE credits in digital format.
